Hedgerow happy

As I walked back from the woods today, I gathered a little along the way.

A poppy from the side of the road.

Grasses from the track to the wood

A daisy from the end of my garden.

Sometimes the good things in life come free.

They do indeed. And I love that saying "The best things in life aren't things" - little wayside flowers are high up on my list of best things......

quite rightly so! Priceless beauty the flowers are.
Have a great week R.
Beautiful! I love the lone poppy brightening everything up.

absolutely lovely - i usually have pretty much the same thing in my kitchen - but i am sort of ashamed to say i can gather most of those 'wild flowers' from my garden!!
They most definitely do and ever so pretty too.

Oh, how pretty! The arrangement speaks so much of summer and all that is good about it.

The bright red poppy and the airy Queen Anne's lace just make this sweet little arrangement. Love it.

I have that exact same vase sitting in my conservatory with some valerian that has made its way under the neighbours fence onto the footpath, and that my daughter picked on her way home from the school bus. I went for a run in the early evening yesterday and loved all the wild flowers that are in bloom at the moment - so much to see!

And often they are the best. I have such a soft spot for everything 'wild', I love wild flowers and berries which are simply here by there own will, beautiful and ripe and sweet without all my planting and planning, nuturing and pampering. This always gives me the feeling how strong and powerful the nature is, but also how generous and beautiful.

Beautiful. That's the best kind of posy. It reminds me of an Angie Lewin print.
I wish we had hedgerows in Maine!

I love the poppy - stands out and gives it just a little bit more of color!
